This conclave is being held to explore the latest advancements in next-generation research, innovations, and technology to celebrate the golden jubilee of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is devoted to discussing the most recent innovations in materials, energy, and climate as they relate to green transitions. The event will provide opportunities for researchers, engineers, students, academicians, policymakers, field professionals, and business titans to present their studies, research, innovations, discoveries, path-breaking ideas, and policy experiences, and establish new partnerships in a global forum.

The International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) is a well-known non-profit organization that conducts scientific activities on advanced materials. It has more than 50000 members from over 125 countries. The group works to support a highly interactive community of researchers studying advanced materials and to encourage alliances, partnerships, and joint ventures that could result in the quick advancement of materials. IAAM seeks to use the field of advanced materials to address the world's most pressing problems. Its motto is "Advancement of materials to global excellence". With this objective in mind, the organization provides international forums for research and education to encourage advancement in the areas of advanced science, engineering, and technology. IAAM is commemorating ten years of what has been an incredibly successful and amazing journey in 2020. The motto of the IAAM in this new decade will be "Advancement of Materials to Sustainable and Green World."
The Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, previously known as the Department of Applied Chemistry, was formally brought into existence on 14th August 1972 and Dr. S.S.M.A. Khorasani was appointed Head of the Department. Originally the Department offered M.Sc. (Preliminary) and M.Sc.(Final) courses, each of one year duration. At present B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees and offered by this Department. The research areas cover Petroleum and Petrochemicals, Chemical Technology, Polymer Science, Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Processing Technology, Energy Technology and Natural Product Chemistry, Atmospheric Chemistry, Photochemistry, Carbohydrate Chemistry, Science of Materials, Petroleum Mining and Industrial Management, Petrochemicals etc. The departmental seminar provides facilities for holding technical lectures, group discussions and guest lectures. Most teachers have joint research projects with the different laboratories of Atomic Energy Commission, BCSIR, ICDDRB, and Petrobangla.
