The WebSymposium/ WebSession on Emerging micro- and nanotechnologies that enable the manufacturing of smart structures and materials towards specific needs of the industry would be the focal point of this congress. This WebSymposium/ WebSession focuses on advanced materials for various applications which includes rapid prototype manufacturing for various industries, smart structures with biological interactions at the interface, nanoscale manufacturing for biomedical and industrial materials, micro- and nanofluidic platforms/devices, mathematical modelling and simulation of cell-surface or cell-material interactions, micro- and nanostructure fabrication for antimicrobial surfaces and objects. While the backbone of our theme has been revealed, we will continue to bolster this program by establishing a strong partnership with universities, companies as well as audiences and participants from various industry sectors.

Prof. Prasad KDV Yarlagadda worked in industry and university over 37 years. He is distinguished graduate of IIT, Bombay brought considerable manufacturing skills to Australia based on his prior experience in India, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and Singapore.  He is currently Professor in Smart Systems and Program Leader: Medical devices, Centre for Biomedical Technologies in Queensland University of Technology, Australia.   Prof. Yarlagadda’s dedicated service lead to advancement of manufacturing engineering education, which further contributed to globally to engineering education and other higher education sectors through his association and engagement with number of universities internationally namely; City University of Hong Kong, The Papua New Guinea University of Technology, Papua New Guinea, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Korean Institute of Industrial Technology and Mokpo National University, South Korea, and other prominent institutes in India namely;  IITs, VIT university, Vellore, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore (Bharathiar university),  Nagarjuna University, KL University, Vijayawada are among others.  Prof. Yarlagadda also advisor to a range of Australian and other international government organizations and professional societies to whom he actively contributed at various capacities and leadership roles such as President, Society of Manufacturing Engineers (Chapter-209, Australia) during 1999 t 2001, President, Global Congress on Manufacturing and Materials (2004-2018) are among others.

He had number of distinguished appointments in various universities in India, China and Australia.  He received more than $16M funding for his research and has published more than 500 papers and successfully supervised more to 50 HDR students in Australia. In 2012 he received a Prestigious Great Honour Award for his outstanding and lifetime contribution to the discipline of manufacturing in world Arena from Materials Division of Polish Academy of Sciences.  In 2016 Professor Yarlagadda was awarded Order of Australia Medal and included in Queens Birthday Honours list in recognition of his outstanding service to Engineering Profession and Indian Community in Queensland, Australia.  He is Editor in Chief and  Deputy Editor-in-Chief of 4 international journals,  and also editorial board member of 18 ISI listed Journals.  He is fellow of many professional organizations such as engineers Australia, the institution of engineers (India), world academy of manufacturing and materials engineering, International Association of Advanced Materials are among others.  In addition he also held many community leadership positions us has President, Federation of Indian communities of Queensland, President The India Australia society and others. Prof. Yarlagadda was appointed twice as VAJRA professor by Ministry of Science and Technology, government of India in 2018 and 2020.

In recognition of his lifetime contributions to Advanced Manufacturing and Advanced Materials fields coinciding his 60th birth anniversary, the International Association of Advanced Materials planned to host a special Web Congress on Manufacturing with Advanced Materials.  The web congress is on emerging micro- and nanotechnologies that enable the manufacturing of smart structures and materials towards specific needs of the industry would be the focal point of this congress.  This web congress focusses on advanced materials for various applications which includes rapid prototype manufacturing for various industries, smart structures with biological interactions at the interface, nanoscale manufacturing for biomedical and industrial materials, micro- and nanofluidic platforms/devices, mathematical modelling and simulation of cell-surface or cell-material interactions, micro- and nanostructure fabrication for antimicrobial surfaces and objects. While the backbone of our theme has been revealed, we will continue to bolster this program by establishing a strong partnership with universities, companies as well as audiences and participants from various industry sectors.

We look forward for the contributions of all global scientific community from across the world including Prof. Prasad’s colleagues, past and presents students, researchers and collaborators and host a successful webinar.
